Emilie (Emi) Tiernen approaches colour with a great passion, in both her art and as a person. Emi will experiment with various techniques and mediums, but retains her bright compositions, rainbow animals, and concentrated patterns of colour which have since become her signature style.
Growing up in Bayside Melbourne, Emi constructs her artworks by recounting beach holidays, trips in the car, encounters with dogs and people she loves to see regularly on her neighbourhood walks. Â Emi also loves language and words and often incorporates text and words that interest her into her work.
Emi has exhibited regularly at the Bayley House annual art exhibitions and in 2023 was selected in the exhibition Disability Lens on Climate Emergency, Climarte Gallery, Richmond.Â
